At dinner, I was bemoaning how unprepared my students are for learning. In my list of suggestions to improve the situation, I mentioned that better teachers were needed.
Alex: "There are good teachers in other countries."
Me: "Yes, that's true."
Alex: "Like England."
Me: "Yes, there are some good teachers in England. I have even met some at conferences."
Alex: "How can we get the good teachers to come over here?"
Me: "That would be difficult. They have friends and family in England, so I think even if we offered them lots of money, they wouldn't come over."
Alex: "They could bring their parents with them."
Me: "I think these teachers are adults. It's more likely they would have to bring their kids with them."
Alex is quiet and seems to think about this.
It's good to know that my boy is learning to be a creative problem solver.
