My apologies for the virtual summer break. Mostly, I was afraid I would let slip our good news too soon, but I think by now everyone should know that we're expecting in February. Keep track of our approximate progress with the neato ticker at the bottom.
We had a terrific summer. Paul taught through the end of July, and then we were off on vacations. First, a quick rendezvous with Paul's family in Michigan, then he and I flew off to Nova Scotia as a sort of belated honeymoon -- or perhaps more realistically, a babymoon. There's not much to tell about the trip except that we had a terrific time living the life of leisure. We stayed at a B&B in Halifax (certainly the weak link of our stay), spent many hours on the city's boardwalk, ate much excellent ice cream -- the best in Canada, by popular vote, and day-tripped to a few notable tourist spots: Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, and the Bay of Fundy.
August seems like a blur. We returned at the tail end of that awful heat wave -- and to a broken hot water heater. Paul started back to work on August 14, and his brothers surprised us with a visit that Tuesday. Paul was able to eke some free time out of his busy schedule, and we enjoyed a day in Indy sipping homemade root beer at Mug 'n' Bun in Indianapolis, followed by an Indy Indian's game at what's been rumored to be the best ballpark in the country. The Indians are the Pittsburgh Pirates' minor league team, and Stefan's a HUGE Pirates fan. The game was perhaps overshadowed by our trip to Asia Mart on the way home -- the kids went gaga over all the impeccable candy packaging.
The school year's off to a good start, I'm feeling well, and stay tuned!
